Valentine's Day

❤️
It’s Valentine’s Day.
I’d like to lead off this post with...
I’m good.
Totally fine.

We never really did much for Valentine’s Day.
We didn’t like crowds so we avoided going out to dinner.
We didn’t really go to activities or make an event of it.
This picture is the only one I have of a Valentine’s Day activity. It’s a Gentri concert. Totally awesome, but it’s the only time that I can remember when we “did” Valentine’s Day.
It just wasn’t really how we rolled.
And we didn’t really give gifts, either.
Except for one thing.

💌 Jason always wrote me a love note and gave me flowers.

🌹For the first half of our marriage, those flowers were red roses. That’s the Valentine’s tradition and Jason was a traditional guy. So, a dozen red roses it was.

Until I mentioned, “I love colorful bouquets more than red roses. Feel free to get a Costco bouquet! Those are perfect! And only ten bucks!” (hint, hint)

Jason was so perplexed that I didn’t love the official “Valentine’s Day Flower.”🤨
But beautiful Costco bouquets started showing up. Daisies and tulips and all the colorful stuff.
Still, with a love note.

Last night, my parents stopped by and gave me a Valentine’s bouquet from Jason.
My mom said, “I imagined what Jason might choose...a dozen red roses!”

Yes! That’s totally what he would choose!😂

Valentine’s hasn’t been a hard day for me.
I don’t carry a lot of baggage with it.
I’m ok.
But thank you.
Thank you for the texts and the messages and the notes and gifts showing up on my doorstep.
Thanks, Tami Glauser, for the, “I love you!” called out in the school crosswalk.
Thanks for the ❤️.

Valentine’s Day is a day for love.
Love of all kinds.
Thank you for that love.

Here’s some love from Jason.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Yes, a dozen.

And hey, I love all of you!
💙✊🏻
