Work-life balance is not a myth
Q: On a scale of 1-10, how much do you believe that work-life balance is something YOU can have?
I really want to see how you answered this question.
I don’t want to know if you think work-life balance might be something that exists out there in the world.
I want to know if you think it could exist FOR YOU.
Pause just for a second and really tune into what you think about this question.
For real.
Scale of 1-10…how much do you believe that YOU can achieve balance?
Many of my clients believe that in order to continue to create the massive success that they have created, that work-life balance is unattainable.
They think that work-life balance is a myth.
They believe that they have to feel like they’re on the edge of burnout.
They believe they have to over-commit themselves and in the process, fall short somewhere.
They believe that disappointing their wife by rushing to their daughter’s dance recital 20 minutes late is just the norm.
They believe that they have to show up for every meeting on their calendar instead of learning how to curate how they spend their time.
They believe that running from task to task on their To Do list is required in order to be in a growth mindset.
They believe that the grind is necessary for success.
But that’s the actual myth.
None of that is true.
You can feel totally present when you spend time with your family.
You can feel determined and on fire about your business success.
All at the same time.
You just need some different tools than what you’ve been using to create your success so far.
And becoming proficient at using these simple tools just takes learning them.
It takes some practice.
It takes some willingness to try something different.
It takes you saying, “No more. I’m not doing it this way any more. There has to be a better way.”
Work-life balance FOR YOU is not a myth.
It is not an altruistic and elusive idea that exists out of your reach.
Don’t believe the actual myth: that work-life balance is not “a thing.”
It’s a thing.
Even for you.
Here’s the first step:
Give the belief a chance.
Consider the possibility that maybe…what if it could be true…that YOU COULD create work-life balance.
You don’t even have to believe it yet.
Just give it a chance to maybe be true.
Don’t just dismiss it.
Don’t just wish for it without considering that maybe it could be more than just a wish.
This is what I call Belief Work.
And it’s the most powerful high-level action you can take.
Working on what you think and believe about balance paves the way for every single action that comes after it.
Just consider the possibility that YOU can create work-life balance.
YOU can be wildly successful with your work AND your relationships.
Give the belief a chance.
And see what happens just by releasing your hold on the idea that work-life balance is only a myth.
Your mind is powerful.
This is the first step to harnessing that power to create the life you actually want.
Q: On a scale of 1-10, how much do you believe that work-life balance is something YOU can have?
I’m asking this question again…after you have read this email.
Has your number changed at all? Even a tiny bit?
This is why giving the belief a chance is so powerful.
I’m offering a different perspective than what you might have believed before reading this.
By considering balance from a different angle, you loosen your mind’s hold on your past belief.
This is why you can shift a belief in just a few minutes of reading an email.
Think of what could happen if you gave a new belief a bigger chance than just the time it took to read this email.
So, I’ll say it again.
Give the belief a chance.
Mull it over.
Consider the possibility that YOU can create work-life balance.
YOU can be wildly successful with your work AND your relationships.
This is available FOR YOU.
I already believe it and I have the tools to make it happen for you.
Sending love,
K
