Urgency is not the same thing as motivation

Q: What feeling do you feel when you are being productive?

My clients usually say: motivated.

But that’s not really the feeling they are experiencing when they are being productive.

It’s usually: urgent, anxious, stress or pressure.

They just think that those feelings are the same as feeling motivated.

They’re not the same.

If you are experiencing the emotions called motivated or determined or focused, how does that feel in your body?

Close your eyes for a minute.

Relax your shoulders as you take a breath and let it out.

Think about feeling determined.

How does that feel in your body?

Maybe you would describe it as an inner pull, perhaps from your chest area, urging you forward.

Maybe you feel a steadiness in your body. A sense of calm.

Now close your eyes again.

Relax and breathe again.

Think about the feeling of pressure or stress or urgency.

What does that feel like in your body?

How is that feeling different than feeling determined?

When I’m feeling stress, I often feel a pressing within me.

My mind is racing.

It feels like a battle. Something I need to fight to get through.

It is heavy and weighted in my chest.

Usually in the same location as I felt determined - but not the same sensation at all.

We have created success for so long feeling pressure or stress that we think it’s how success happens.

We think it’s the same thing as feeling motivated.

But there is a difference.

Success is not created just by feeling stress and pressure.

Wild success can be created while feeling determined or truly motivated. Even calm creates success.

The emotion matters.

Learning how to take action from the emotion you actually want to feel is the key to feeling more present in your life.

It’s the key to having closer relationships and a thriving business at the same time.

It’s the key to being successful and feeling calm at the same time.

Urgency isn’t necessary.

Pressure isn’t the same thing as feeling motivated.

Stress can be stricken from your path to more success.

First, consider that this is a possibility.

Next, learn how to harness the emotions you really want to feel in your life.

That’s my specialty.

I help you learn how to feel better as you create massive success.

Sending love,

K
