33 years ago today, Jason broke his neck.

I wasn’t on the scene till 5 years later but July 13 is set as an event on my calendar because we celebrated it every year.

The calls and texts would roll in from his family, wishing him an enthusiastic, “Happy Anniversary!”

The first year after our sister-in-law married Jason’s brother she left him a message that went something like this...

“Happy Anniversary, Jason! This seems kind of weird to celebrate but I know it’s important to you. Love you!”😂😂

Best message ever on so many levels!

Why did we celebrate the day he broke his neck???

Jason’s theory was, “I can either laugh or cry so I might as well enjoy the ride.”

We usually went to a movie that day.

So, this morning when Krishel suggested seeing “Yesterday” during mine and Coleman’s getaway to Boise, I was all in.
